Parents Starting Point

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Kidz Land?
Kidz Land is the children’s ministry of Harmony Hills Community Church, encompassing children from birth through fifth grade.

When is Kidz Land?
Kidz Land is every Sunday during the Worship Service. Parents are encouraged to come to church 10 minutes early so that they will have time to drop their children off in the Kidz Land Hallway before they come to service. If you do not know where the Kidz Land Hallway is, an Usher will be at the Information Desk to show you where it is.

What do they do in Kidz Land?
The Kidz Land experience is different for each age group. But, in each class, your child will learn about the Bible through games, crafts, age-appropriate Bible lessons and application activities.

What are the key values upheld in Kidz Land?

  • A Spirit-filled Place – Our greatest desire at Kidz Land is to build a Christian atmosphere for children where they are given the opportunity to become aware of God so that they can respond to Him in faith and love. This will enable them to grow as children of God rooted in the Christian faith.

  • A Secure Place – We want to make sure that parents can rest assure when leaving their children with us. We have instituted a security label and registration system for all children and parents.

  • A Sterile Place – We help Lysol and Purell stay in business. We spray down all of our rooms before the service, and will ask all children to use Purell upon entering the room. We don’t like germs.

  • A Fun Place! – Church should fun, right!

How will you contact me if my child needs me?
We have a 15 minute limit for a crying child. If they continue to cry beyond that time, we will flash your security tag number near the bottom corner of the screen. If your child becomes inconsolable or unwell, your security tag number will flash near the bottom corner of the screens. If your number appears on the monitor, please come to your child’s classroom.

If you would like to see the remaining portion of the worship service, you may take your child to the Family Worship room where a live video feeds into a family-friendly environment.

Is there a private area available for nursing mothers?
Near the children’s classrooms, you will find a quiet and private area designed specifically for nursing mothers. Inside you will find rocking chairs, a changing station, boppy’s to assist in feeding, and a live video feed of the main worship service. If you have any other needs, please feel free to see one staff.

How do I pick up my child after service?
When you check your child in, we will give you a security tag sticker that has a three digit code on it. You will not want to lose this sticker because your child will not be returned to you unless you present your security tag to the teacher. Since it is a sticker, it will be easiest to place this sticker tag on your shirt or in another secure place during the service. When you return to pick up your child, we will match your security tag to your child’s nametag. If you have misplaced your security tag, we will need to see your driver’s license to compare the information with what we have on file for your family.

What about if my child is sick?
We ask, for the sake of the other children and staff, that you do not send your child to Kidz Land if they have an infectious disease or the beginning signs of the cold. Other forms of sickness include but are not limited to unexplained rash, fever over 100 degrees in the last 24 hours, vomiting or loose stool in the last 24 hours, and uncontrollable cough.
