Mission and Vision
Mission Statement
“Harmony Hills Community Church exists to glorify God by connecting people up to God, in through life change, and out to the local and global community.”
Our Vision
We believe that the Lord has planted in us three strategic focus areas - To Connect Up, Connect In, and Connect Out. The first is to “Connect people up to God.” When Moses encountered our Holy and Almighty God, he was transformed forever. He had a new view of God’s everlasting greatness. We want people to see and experience God for who He is. We want to be God-centered and Christ-exalting in everything we do. Our first strategic focus area is to want people to experience God fully in worship. We believe that God has created all of us for worship, and we believe that it is an honor to glorify our Creator.
The second strategic focus area is to “Connect people in through discipleship.” This is where the answer to the question, “What do we want people to become?” came up.
In the Great Commission of Christ (Matthew 28:18-20), Jesus commands us to “Go and make disciples.” Jesus made it very clear that we are to make disciples. We want people to move towards community, spiritual maturity, and full involvement in the church. God made our heart yearn for community where we can be authentic and real. God desires for us to share our lives together. We can never be fully whole in Christ unless life sharing happens and community is experienced on a consistent basis. So we make a strong push for every single person to be connected in our community groups.
Our third strategic focus area is to “Connect out to the local and gloabl community.” We will place a heavy emphasis on evangelism and missions. This is where we asked the question, “What do we want people to do?”. Making disciples is often known as the Great Commission. Jesus said that we are to have two loving relationships. We are to love God and to love people. This loving relationship is called the Great Commandment (Matthew 22). Jesus said that everything written in Scripture could be reduced to these two commands.
Every life is important to God. We want everyone to know that Jesus Christ died for sinners just like us. We want people to know that Jesus is waiting to extend His grace to them.
God has made it clear that our church walls can never hold back what God wants to do all around the community and to the ends of the world. We want to connect God’s love to the hurting and the poor.
